Lowe’s took on Craftsman at the same time they closed the nearest store to me, 30 miles away.
I hadn’t been there in years but thought I would stop in for the cRaftman selection, even tho I know the craftsman quality has gone way down.
It sounds like Lowe’s is loosing the box store lumber yard store war. I really never saw much in it that interested me.
The Home Depot 30 miles away is fun to shop through a couple times a year, they have some nice tool and electrical stuff.
Of course the Menards 30 miles away has rebuilt and expanded several times in the past 30 years, and built a store in my small town because the one 30 miles away was ‘too busy’.
Rumor was always my small town store was not doing well. Until, they added on, built a bigger upstairs to house contractor stuff, and added on again. I think they are doing ok even in my small town. My wife actually shops Menards more than the Walmart store, she finds what she likes at Menards.....
Lowe’s just never appealed to me, they seemed to be the lumber store for people who don’t know what a 2x4 is, snobbish somehow.

But alas, my carb foiled me again, it would fire a second then flood out. After numerous dead ends for a replacement carb, I went to work fixing mine.I soldered new floats on the float arm, they came from an old motorcycle carb, replaced the packing on the throttle shaft with o-rings, cut new ga
