More times then I can count I've been riding comfortably in traffic on my bike when some pig on a hog with straight pipes comes blatting through. Then I get people crowding me, cutting me off, and generally taking out their hostility towards the blatting slob on me. It's interesting to me when I watch some slob on a loud bike wreck because they couldn't hear the beeping of a car horn or the screech of skidding tires. Funny how with quieter pipes I can get more input about events going on around me. Loud pipes save lives? Never.
