Fixed many for the dreaded hard to find rev. Ya start at the top and work your way down. Once you get to the top cover this is where ya have to really start the fixen . Myself i do not buy a new top cover as i have a machine shop that rebush it . Next ya check the cam for ware and the detent plate , replace any missing rollers and spring , Always remove the side cover on the left side to the rear frame as this is rev. slider is and he rev. shifting fork. The shifter shaft has a small woodruff key and the key way does get beat out and requires replacement , sometimes i find the shifting fork broken . The biggest problem of shifter ware is due to people letting the clutch , trans brake and dump vale get out of proper adjustment and that is when the tugging jerking and SLAMING of the shifter starts . When everything is set correctly they will shift with two fingers and fall in and out of gear. If the adjustments are not wright then i don't care if ya go thru the cost and work of installing a 56-66 shifter they don't shift any better.

I’d probably plowed about 3000 acres (in my head anyway) by the time they found me. This is where my love for tractors started and has only gotten worse in my tender 50 yrs on this “green planet”.
