Spook has it right. Most collectors at least start with a tractor for their youth. 8N, Farmall H or M, JD B or A. Things like that. The guys who grew up around those tractors are retired, living in town, in assisted living, the nursing home or grave yard. So the guys who want things like that are gone. Plus the folks today who are buying 5-10 acres and commuting 50-60 or more miles to work are buying new JD's or Bota's. Just no one in the markets anymore. 2 local guys here within the last 7-8 years. Each with a Farmall, one H the other an M. Both had near new rubber, ran well, WFE, all hydraulic loaders. heat housers, chains, aftermarket 3 points. The M had live hydraulics and power steering too. Neither one could get more than about 1200. Both guys approached me when they wanted to sell. I wasn't interested in either. The guy with the M originally wanted 1800. The fella with the H wanted 1500. So neither one was super high. Was at an auction this spring. An AC WD45, new rear rubber, rear blade brought 850. A decent running Farmall H with decent tires brought 600.

Cylinders are the reason for the hydraulic circuit. They take the fluid power delivered from the pump and magically change it into mechanical power. There are many types of cylinders that one might run across on a farm scenario. Each one could take a chapter in
