I have a 4450 with the 466 engine with gear drive water pump. JD had a problem with the water pump weep hole getting plugged with dirt and putting antifreeze into the engine. JD sent me a fix kit for this that was just a 3/8 X 3/8 X 1-1/2 chunk of foam rubber that was to be inserted into the weep hole after cleaning the hole with a piece of wire. The foam was to allow coolant to drain while keeping dirt out. That much coolant leaking sounds more like a bad sleeve O ring. Good luck, hope it is the water pump.
