I don't expect any response to this...I just want my say. I use this site for info. But I always see someone who tries to stir up a controversey. I am a Farmall guy. But growing up my dad had many tractors. The first one I remember was a J/D B. Then we had a Massey-Harris 44. That was the best tractor we ever had! To this day I wish I had that tractor. My dad bought a Farmall 400 and sold the M/H to a neighbor. A guy that had "big" plans for the tractor.(You know the type, always starts something but can never finish it!) He thought he could use the M/H for pulling. After 2 weeks he destroyed it and scrapped it. How sad! A tractor used for 50+ years gone in a matter of days! I'm sure many of you have similar stories. And as far as the guy who wrote American Farmers Freedom, it's OK to have your opinion, but what about action? Are you willing to pay more taxes to help the farmers? Are you willing to pay a higher price for goods made by farmers to help support them? Sometimes it seems that it is OK to blame everybody else for things and just sit back and be an "armchair preacher." C'mon people, stop whining and start shining! Every time you eat a slice of bread, remember where it came from! By the way, I am not a farmer, I'm a truck driver with a 10 acre hobby farm.(Just raise a few animals.) But I do have 2 tractors! (A 300 and a M.) Sorry this went on so long, but I am now finished. Happy Holidays to all! (P.S.----if it wasn't for tractors, I would still be shoveling my driveway!)

Grain Threshing in the Early 40's - by Jerry D. Coleman. How many of you can sit there and say that you have plowed with a mule? Well I would say not many, but maybe a few. This story is about the day my Grandfather Brown (true name) decided along with my parents to purchase a new Ford tractor. It wasn't really new except to us. The year was about 1967 and my father found a good used Ford 601 tractor to use on the farm instead of "Bob", our old mule. Now my grandfather had had this mule since the mid 40's and he was getting some age on him. S
