Had a uncle in his 90's who still farmed all by himself except when something broke. He finished chisling a field, folded it up and headed home about 11pm one night. He called my wife and I early the next morning to come over and help him change the points on the chisel. About 10 miles from his place the blacktop road started looking like someone plowed it up. Got over to his place and there set the chisel, folded up but still in the ground all the way. After a good laugh we replaced the shanks and the points on the main frame.

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
