Just to remind you guys I’m working on my friends Farmall M. The engine was stuck, upon tear down we found the following: 1 It appears the head gasket failed on cylinder 3 2 The rest of the internals look great and it would appear the engine was overhauled with a Super M kit. 4” bore sleeves, stepped pistons, etc. 3 The engine shows very little wear, I’m thinking it was overhauled the head gasket fail and the previous owner gave up on it.
Now we are sourcing parts. The piston measures 3 15/16” so we would need a set of rings for a Super M. Here’s the question. The book says the M engine is a C248 the super M is a C264 is the bore size in the block for the sleeves the same on both engines? In other words can we get a 4” bore sleeve for a Super M and it will fit the M block, or do I need to find a sleeve for an M with a 4” bore to fit the block? Thanks for your thoughts.

"Run in the house and get me a...."as I open th
