I like everything that you've said, Robert. I don't want to appear too "anti" Green, because I'm not necessarily, but some people are afraid to hear what you said. It just doesn't fit into their perfect little worlds where "Green is Mean" or "Solid, Stable, blah, blah, blah.." I like some of what JD has done, some I don't care for. That goes for every other maker as well. If I were buying, I probably wouldn't go Green because I've had too much good service out of all the reds and blues and oranges. What does turn me away from JD though is the attitude that many, not all, but many JD owners have. It's like somehow they've seen the light and we're all idiots. We wouldn't know a tractor from a whole in the ground and so on. I guess it was just an accounting trick or a conspiracy that's made Massey Ferguson the best selling brand for over 35 years? The truly backwards people are you folks that buy Green regardless of price or quality or common sense. The John Deere dealers locally in this part of the country have left. Who has stayed? AGCO, New Holland, and Deutz! That's right, Deutz. Apparently they could make it arround here when "Big Green" couldn't. Just remember, AGCO made a profit this year. JD lost $300 million. AGCO grew this year buy getting the best track-type tractor on the market. John Deere was laying people off. AGCO and the rest have seen the wisdom in rotary technology for over a decade. John Deere just now realized it and is no doubt hurriedly copying everything that they can in order to catch up. So much for being at the leading edge of technolgy...........

Earthmaster Project Progress Just a little update on my Earthmaster......it's back from the dead! I pulled the head, and soaked the stuck valves with mystery oil overnight, re-installed the head, and bingo, the compression returned. But alas, my carb foiled me again, it would fire a second then flood out.
