I can recall our '64 Ford 4000 with a Select-O-Speed transmission and even my old 850 Ford being pretty darned hot when mowing thick vegetation, grass and weeds with a rotary cutter in the warm summer weather. Weather plays a role, if cooler drier air is prevalent, not nearly as hot.
One I can think of that was also quite hot, was a D8K Caterpillar with the fan blades reversed for winter operation, sending all that heat from the huge radiator these have, to the operator platform. Not so much in the winter, but when spring comes and the mechanic is late to spin those fan blades back ! I thought I was working in an oven, even though it had an OROPS.

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
