OK several things wrong here. 1: Where is the provision in this law to put extra cops on to enforce this law? 2: Why? That speed sticker isn't going to be readable by a guy doing 60 coming up behind that tractor that has 30 feet or so of folded up implement behind him. So just what good is this going to do? 3: Who cares what another country does? Just because they do it doesn't mean it's a great idea. They are not us and we are not them.
Sounds to me like the governor of NY has strong ties to legal firms. Cause the only folk who are going to benefit from this are the ambulance chasers.
1:That sticker isn't going to make the roads one bit safer.
2:They are not going to make enough off fines to cover the cost of enacting this. Cop is going to have to be pretty bored to go after a tractor on the hope that it's in violation.
3: About the only time you will see a ticket issued is going to be after an accident.
4: And 3 is why the lawyers are going to love this. Once a cop tickets an operator for going to fast or not having the documents required or for not having a sticker/correct sticker the lawyers will be claiming that the ticket proves that the farm owner was ultimately to blame and should pay through the nose. That will be the burden of proof for negligence and large awards.
