There was a post on this subject about a month ago or so. Someone remarked that older tractor engines do not run at a high enough RPM, or work hard enough to ever need to worry about the absence of lead in the fuel. There are lead deposits there from years past and would be sufficient. What that individual was saying is that there is no need to add additives, or rework the heads if the tractor is running well. Of course if the engine were ever to be overhauled, it may make sense to add hardened valve seats at that time, but not before. On my older tractor engines, I add Marvel Mystery oil to them about every 7 or 8 tankful, and I use them rather heavily. I have had no problems yet, and am not concerned. Just my 2 cents worth.
