I would suggest you go to Harleytechtalk.com, it is the Harley version of this site, lots of good info.
My 88 inch Pan is set up with a Vulcan distributor and two coils that I can run either single or dual fire, they are 1.5 amps each if I remember correctly. My 1978 Sportster Cafe Racer has dual plugs and 4 1/4 inch stroke (ex drag racer) and Dyna ignition. I never liked a slow bike and mine are not stock.
