I heard a joke once where an intern at a hospital was called on the carpet by the chief surgeon. A nurse claimed the intern had insulted her, and he was asked to explain himself.
The intern said, "Well, sir, first thing this morning at breakfast I got into a fight with my wife. I stomped out of the house and found my car had a flat tire and I had to change that. By then I was in a hurry, and got into a fender bender on the way to the hospital. When I got to the hospital, I found the elevators were out of order and I had to walk up six flights of stairs. Just when I got to the top of the stairs, the nurse asked me what to do with the rectal thermometers".
