Its a dark and dismal morning but I had to get out for a look around soon as there was enough light. I guess it could be worse but there is significant hail damage to my standing wheat that was almost ready to thresh. Lots of seed on the ground although the crop is mostly still standing. Canola swaths nearby have all the top pods threshed and shattered but I guess the inside of the swath should be fine. I don't know how many oats will be left in the crop that was still standing. At least Ihope its still standing. At this point just glad I didn't sell all last year's oats as I might need them for feed. Two and three quarter inches in the gauge this morning. Every low spot full of water. If we ever get to combine this fall I think tow ropes will be standard equipment to get through the day.
