Called on a friend that does a bit of custom work, and told him my combine woes, and asked him if he could come harvest for me? He told me he had just finished his own, and had a miserable time direct cutting. I said I didn’t think he would have much trouble with my standing grain, very little green stuff in it this year. So he agreed to come for the standing grain, but hadn’t gotten his pickup head out this year, but another neighbor had his pickup head on doing grain, and he called on him to come do my swathed grain. So my standing grain is done, right around ton and a half per acre. My friend could hardly believe the yield, neither could I. First picture is the combine unloading, second picture is deep wide cracks in the dry dry ground.
