Here in S.E. PA, pre 1970, there were few wide front tractors other than fords & IH utilitys. Probably 90% to 10%. And that's in the river hills where level ground is something we read about in books. Hilly and rocky fields. Most tractors were expected to do any & all jobs on the farm, including cultivating which is generally easier with tricycle front end.
