I tried to post this on a 2005 topic, but could not.
I had this same problem for years, if temperature was above 65 degrees, the tractor started great but not below. I tried heaters, tent and propane, nothing worked other than leaving it inside a heted barn. Tough when you want to put out hay. I know this is an old post, but I wanted to tell you what I found out after trying everything on this site. I rebuilt that starter several times, even purchased a new one. nothing worked I orderd a racing starter from Chris Isom, at 888-244-8675! I have never had a problem since! I have since put so much money in this tractor, tha i could have purchased a new one! LOL! I just kept telling myself, the engine is still very good, there must still be some good in it. I think I have it all working well, Good money after bad, but it works, and I did it a few thosand at a time, reminds me of the Johnny cash car song! I say, its not the tractor I want, but it is the one I have. IF you have starter problems, call this guy, very honest, and it works, it is a High torgue starter.

But, on the other hand, there is a secret language that our mechanical companions readily do speak. It is an interesting form of communication that involves all the senses of the listener. In this series we are going to investigate and learn the basic rudimentary skills of understanding this lingo.
