Well, if laws prohibit the cutting of forestation what are the power companies supposed to do. We have a simular senario near here. A stream runs from the hill country down to the Mohawk river. The stream is a protected trout stream, and the powers to be would not allow the stream to be cleared of derbies at highway bridges and eventually the stream backed up and flooded a mobile home park occupied mainly by older retirees. The Gov. issued an order to vacate the area due to annual flooding, rather than clearing the creek bed so the water could flow unrestricted to the river as it had for many decades. The owner of the trailer park which had been there for years, and the residents could not afford to pick up roots and move. and were basically forced out on the street and lost all their equity that they had because of stupid laws concerning trout streams.
