Seems like all this is nonsense unless you guys are building on muck. We have built 3 good size polebarns. And added to 1 of them over the years and we just back filled them like a fence post. One has been there since the 60's, one since the 70's, and the last since the 80's. With the 70's one being a 20 foot extension added to the end, and a 20 foot lean to on the back side. All of this was done before the 90's. None have settled or shifted since built. All have old power line poles for the poles too.Due to the concrete around poles on the last one. It was a freestall barn for the cows with all that manure and acid from it. It has a couple they are not needing some work. Don't feel to bad since they are now going on 40 years and were old poles from either the power company or the phone company.
