There's a guy in town here that can actually take your old 6V generator and somehow rewire (or whatever he does) it to be a 12 volt. A few years ago he was doing it for $80 Cdn but I figured that if I ever chose to go to a 12V generator, I'd just hunt around for one. There's a good-looking one at a nearby wrecking yard on a 61 Pontiac and I considered that, but those car generators look a bit big I think on some of the older tractors, but they still are and look like a generator. I'm not fussy about the looks of an alternator on an old tractor but it's probably the way to go.

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
