In Germany every tractor of the last 50 years has it. The advantage is, like Clint says: Easier to handle and much safer like the hand throttle, which You use have to use in Germany only when farming in the fields. You must know, that german Farmers do Transport of their harvest to the plant or the Silos by themself, with farm tractors that ran up to 30mph and more, with 2 trailers of gross weight 18-22tons each.
