i have comverted several tractors 6v x 12v.you willsurely enjoy the results.as several others remarked youwillhave to obtain an resistor toplace inseries w/the12v coil which is the least expensive way to handle this conversion.if you are concerned about appearance find an old similar generator w/regulator.(i have prefered to adapt a good used or rebuilt alternator w/internal regulator becauseof less required maint.) do your own thing w/lights. 6v starter is "OK" on 12v because they are very heavily builtand willstand some abuse. i have never had to replace a 6v in12v service in 16 years.your old starter will really crank beyond belief. good luck. regards j c
