Row crop tractors were better for cultivating . They now get a poor rap from novice operators who think they are unstable on steep ground. It seems that experienced operators never had any problems. In older tractors i prefer them because they have fewer parts to be worn out. Some of the early wide fronts were somewhat flimsy.
