Engine needed please read on: I have a I.H. 1974 model 674 diesel is a 239. Like this tractor bought it cheap but now after taking the engine apart and looking at it well have to say it is best to locate another one. I do have a good block was thinking to salvage parts out of they engine the tractor came with. The problem came to my thought if they threw the third connecting rod and still ran the engine with three cylinders. Chewing up the balancer gear and the balancer is completely gone to. Crank is dust and so on go the list. Thinking it is best to find a engine or rebuild the good block I bought a five months ago. looking for a way to afford this mess I got talked in to buying and restoring. any I deals may I ask I can get a rebuild engine from a tractor place but the price is high after having it shipped to me. Just wondering what you might suggest. Your suggestions will be read and be considered thanks for reading.
