Jeff, Why do you want to reverse the direction of the starter? If I may, let me speculate that you are switching from Positive to Negative ground on a 6 to 12 volt conversion. Is that right? If that is so, don't worry about it too much. The starter will not turn in reverse just because you have reversed battery polarity. It may not last as long that way, but when you do have to replace or rebuild it, just tell the parts guy that you want it to be for the system you are converting it to. I have seen tractors converted from 6 to 12 volt like that and the starters seem to work just fine. If you truly need the starter to turn in reverse, such as an engine that turns backwards (some do), you may want to try getting a starter for a boat. Many boat engines turn in reverse, especially on the big boats with twin engines. I hope this helps. Good luck and God Bless. Tommy
