Well John, I'd go with something short and close to the ground with 3pt that has some form of position/draft control. Live or independant PTO is a good investment also. In that price range, MF 35 or possibly a 135 would be good. Also Oliver has a Super 55 or a 550 that fit the bill. IH has a 300 & 350 Ultility, Ford 600 series or newer(simply because of the live hydraulics and live PTO) to name a few. Generally you will find the Ford's and the MF's at the top of the price range, with IH and Oliver at the bottom of the price list. I personally use an Oliver 550 for such purposes and I'm not disappointed at all. If you were in southern IN I would take you to a friends to buy an Oliver 1365 (made by Fiat for Oliver)for $4500. Just a few Ideas, I'm sure you will get more...
