"I wondering if my contractor will get my pole barn built before things really goes south."
I retired Jan. 1, 2005 and about Jan 15 my 45x50x12 shop materials arrived. I had to pull the delivery semi to the unloading spot and back out to hard ground with a tractor due to mud and slush. I had an empty shed adjacent to the building and setup up a kitchen and I fed the crew a daily, hot breakfast and lunch to keep them on the job figuring that if they went to town to eat, they would loose an hour in just travel time not counting eating and resting and such, delaying completion. Motel accommodations were about 7 miles away. Had a JD 4020 at the time with a 157 (as I recall...may have been a 152) JD loader with which I carried the trusses over and held them up while the crew installed them and other assisting tasks. Got her finished in about a week and they did a super job under miserable conditions. Hats off to their fine workmanship.
