Here's more. Ever try picking up the radiator to a D? When I was younger and bought my styled D, it took myself and another fellow to slide the radiator up the ramps of the trailer, cause we could NO way pick it up. I used a forklift to hold it up and set it on the tractor when I got the head back on. As I remember, the head was not real light either. The tractor weighs around 6600# without weights or CaCl. The old unstyled D's were lighter I am sure but still they had some heft. Also, with the weight on the front, steering was not easy so it pretty much stayed in the direction it was pointed. Maybe someone else can give us the weight of the early D. I think mine got a little light in the front at a pull but it did not rear up.
