That sounds just great! I, to, had to widen the fork carreir, was just too narrow for what I was doing. The mast and forks were originaly off, I suspect, a warehouse machine, for four foot wide palletts, and only had about three inches of ground clearance. The forks were cut back to three feet long, was going to lengthen them, but found they were OK for my use. [Mounted a grapple to hold the round bales and sometimes logs to]. I did lengthen the verticle eight inches to give me eleven inches of ground clearance, and there are times more would be nice. Kind of hard to explain how I widened the fork carrier.
