Well, I finished plowing the 37A field today, I think. It may get bigger. Before I could start plowing today I was having to replace another broken landside on #1 bottom. I was going to have to improvise, and weld a broken one to get going this morning. I called down to my local CNH dealer and asked if they had any more new ones in stock. The parts man said that some had come in and the salesman was in-route to the farm with a box of new ones. You can't beat that!! Now if we could keep them from breaking prematurely. They just snap through the first or second bolt. The worst part is that I loose not only the tail of the landside, but the moldboard brace breaks off at the moldboard also. The salesman got to the farm and I had made a new moldboard brace, so in short order I had things ready to head to the field. I had to strike out a new backland and was a bit concerned if the tractor could get enough traction, but it just hunkered down, all 4 tires bit in and did the job. I would have been all done on this side hill field if I still had my trusty Case 931 hooked on. MFD and diff lock are great.
Now down to the field below the farmstead.
It is a steep tough pull up out of the NW corner of this field.
Cousin Kevin was down with the 1845 skidsteer pulling fence wire and brush along the fence line. I might end up plowing the hay field below this one making the 2 fields into one. It will be about 46A then.
Next pics is of plowing off the headland on the lower North end of the field.
More lake effect snow squalls moved in before I finished off the southern end of the field.
Headed out of the field and home. Still lots of unsold wrapped round bales in the farm yard.
