There's a curved T intersection with stop signs for eastbound traffic on a curve a quarter of a mile south of my house, with a grain elevator a mile to the west. Trees and a house block the view to the south.
During harvest, it's non-stop traffic past my house to the elevator, mostly semis, nowadays. I can sit on my front deck all day and watch grain trucks blow through the intersection without even slowing down, much less stopping for the stop signs. It's like they're playing Russian roulette.
I've had a lot of close calls myself at that intersection, and I think it's only a matter of time.
