Mark, I saw a new Electric over hyd unit the other day at a trailer manufger here in fla. A friend of mine put one on his trailer that he made using same axel setup you are talking about excellent brakes. no vac to bother with uses elec controller as before.has a electric motor that pumps up over 800 psi for the brakes, will lock tandems up tight if you set it right Jack
