I found this Robert Bosch 4-cylinder base-mount magneto in a fallen down shed of my late Uncle's.
I suspected it might be for a 12-20 Twin City, as I have the remains of two of them, but internet research shows that not to be the case.
Number on mounting base adapter casting appears to be IC54, or 1C54, with a larger "T" below the number.
Does it look familiar to anyone?
(I find it interesting that it's the better part of 100 years old, and has been in the sun and weather for years, and even though the three remaining wires have lost their fabric covering, the rubber over the wiring (although cracked here and there) is still quite pliable.)
Just now, as I'm posting this, I'm wondering if it could be from a Caterpillar "Twenty" or "Thirty", as he had one of those, as well, in pieces. (I can't remember which he had, for sure.)
Mag may have been "subbed" into the "hut" and onto the base, as I'm not sure what's there is a perfect fit?

This story is about the day my Grandfather Brown (true name) decided along with my parents to purchase a new Ford tractor. It wasn't really new except to us. The year was about 1967 and my father found a good used Ford 601 tractor to use on the farm instead of "Bob", our old mule. Now my grandfather had had this mule since the mid 40's and he was getting some age on him. S
