Depends on where you live and what you plan to do with in in the winter. I'm in Missouri and use 20W-50 in most of my tractor but do not get down below zero much and when we do I am not likely to run one. So if south of me 20W-50 will work just fine but if up north maybe a 15W-40 or a 10W-40
