We are still trying to figure out just what this tractor is. We have the model/date/serial off the casting (thank you to Destroked 450 for the clue) and I will post a couple of photos plus a couple that show more of the tractor.
Maybe to shortcut, the top line of the stamping on the casting is C4012 and I think there is a C after. The middle line is 5K08B and the serial lilne is *479061*
According to the chart on this site the serial makes it a 1975, which is what he was told by the prior owner. I looked up the model code and came up with a 3000 Utility, diesel, 540 PTO off the transmission. It is a 3 cyl diesel, 8 speed. Did we do the translation right? It has several coats of paint on it and there are no stickers or other identifying marks.
Can it be a 3000 series and still be a 535? What is the difference between "utility" and "industrial" and for general work around the property will it matter?
Apologies for the loader being in the way in the photos.
