Every language has different dialects and terminology. Take Cajun French; Canadian French; and France French. It is all French but has been separated for hundreds of years. So it has evolved in different directions.
Then you have how people speak. Take southern and northern USA English.
I for one find it interesting hearing and learning different dialects. It educates me.
On the other hand you have some that think their way of word use is the only correct way. They will try to correct anyone that speaks or uses words differently than they do. They may even get mad if you try to explain to them this is a big world and not everyone speaks the same way.
