"LOL you cant make this stuff up. "
But yet, you seem to be.
A) I think most folks don't "like" nuclear power because nobody has a process in place to deal with the toxic byproducts of the industry that will remain so for hundreds of thousands of years. Without governmental guarantees to insure them from catastrophic claims, this industry wouldnt exist. That is a shame because the actual energy it produces is far cleaner than coal, they just cant figure out what to do with the waste. You probably dont have to be a "radical left extreme militant tree hugger" to realize you shouldnt create a mess you dont fully comprehend and then leave it for generations from this point forward into the far future to clean up after you.
B) Apparently consumers and energy companies nationwide dont "like" coal fired plants, be it traditional "dirty" coal, or its market-tested, re-branded yet identical "clean" variety. Coal plant new construction is way down and it appears will continue to drop as newer and cheaper alternatives produce more and more BTUs at lower costs. Not many corporate boards tasked with approving new construction projects are staffed by a majority of "radical left extreme militant tree huggers".
C) Hydroelectric is by far the cleanest and efficient renewable energy . The only problems arise when dams are located close to terminal deltas that serve a migrating population of fish, such as Salmon in the northwest. This disrupts the spawning runs and the peoples and fishing industries that depend upon them. Not many fishing fleets are run by "radical left extreme militant tree huggers".
D) Wind generation is also a upcoming source of power that has broad support (except from bird watchers!). Locating wind farms off shore and away from problematic topography and migratory avian routes holds the most promise. I dont know of many in my "radical left extreme militant tree hugger" sleeper cell that oppose wind energy!
How will we charge our new Tesla trucks??? Solar, my friend.
Oh, look- it's actually in the original topic title for this entire discussion........

Today's Featured Article - Upgrading an Oliver Super 55 Electrical System - by Dennis Hawkins. My old Oliver Super 55 has been just sitting and rusting for several years now. I really hate to see a good tractor being treated that way, but not being able to start it without a 30 minute point filing ritual every time contributed to its demise. If it would just start when I turn the key, then I would use it more often. In addition to a bad case of old age, most of the tractor's original electrical system was simply too unreliable to keep. The main focus of this page is to show how I upgr
