The point is to draw the dollars to One's area not have the money spent on the other side of the state.Plus players spending their huge salaries provide a big economic boost.The economics of an area just don't 'happen' they are the result of the planning and investment or lack of good planning with no foresight results in a depressed economic area.Plus economic activity generates wealth.In my area the basketball arena John Paul Jones Arena not only has UVA basketball games (National Champs last season) it also has concerts,conventions,you name it and that draws a huge amount of money to our area.My county is by far the richest county in the area we can afford things many other counties around can't begin to afford.
