so how do you know thats how much advance have you had the dist on a stroboscope to check it out as that would be the best way to find out. Those are hard to find but you could find out what is happening from 500 to 1600 rpms. Are you building a pulling engine or just general use. Timing lite will show also. How many deg is the timing set now for starting.
