Reminded me of once about 15 years ago someone pounded on our door at 3am on a zero degree night.
It was a guy and a gal who said they got stuck in the snow about a mile north. They smelled like they'd been hitting the bottle. They'd left another gal and a 4 year old girl in the car. I figured the quickest way I'd get back to bed was to go bail them out. I got in a 4x4 pickup and headed up there with them. What had happened, was the neighbor had driven into a field road with a tractor to get hay for his critters, and they saw his tracks and thought it was a county road. So they'd driven out into the field and got stuck.
The car was a Chevy Cavalier, and I hooked a tow strap onto it, plus a chain to keep from getting the pickup too far off the road. I told the gal in the car to put it in reverse and be ready to move when I started pulling. I dug out with the pickup and when the tow strap hit the end of its stretch that little Cavalier came flying out of there like it was on a bongee cord. I had to kick the pickup in the butt to keep out of the way.
Anyway, I got them back out on the road. They went through all of their pockets, came up with 7 one dollar bills and said they'd be back the next day with more. Of course, I never saw them again.

"Run in the house and get me a...."as I open th
