I remember a similar experience from my youth. I took the starter and battery off my Dads truck. Mounted the starter over the back wheel so when I energized it, the bendix would kick out and hit the rear tire and take off. I fixed the battery right above the pedal area. Dad was amused but not happy. Had to return and reinstall all parts the following day. Bummer
