I have to ignore the scrap guys I see stopped.When scrap was high,I saw a friend with a load in the gas station.It was all Model A Ford stuff.Engines,transmissions,rear and front ends,frames,all A.He was doing a cleanup of an estate,and the owner had saved Model A stuff from wartime up through the late 70's.I looked at the load,he said he knew about what it weighed when he let the clutch out and offered me the load for $1500.I thought about it,and turned him down.He really was making me a good offer,the load brought $1800.over the scales.He hauled seven loads out of that barn.He did bring me a Gibson tractor with some attachments,and sold it to me for a little less than scrap price.Right now scrap is less than 1/4 of what it was back then.It was $365.pet ton then,it was $78.last Friday.
