Spark at distributor??? You should get a spark from the center wire of the cap if you hold it a 1/4 inch from the block if the points are good and make good contact. Most spark problems are dirty point or point set wrong. Being a 52 that says side mount distributor so point gap should be 0.025. One simple as in even a cave man can do it trick to trouble shoot is to take a wire from the + side of the battery and and touch it to the ignition side of the coil. When you touch it there you should see a small spark and when you pull it back off a spark. No spark means the point need TLC
