Pull the center wire out of the distributor cap the one that has the coil on the other end. Hold that close to the block say a 1/4 inch away. You should get a nice blue/white spark that jumps a 1/4 inch or more. If you do not get a spark run a hot wire from the non ground side of the battery to the ignition side of the coil and try the spark test again. If you have a spark when hot wired the problem is from the coil back to the battery. f you still do not have spark your problem is in the distributor and most likely a points problem
