Black squirrels are regional.
They are plentiful, about all you see in central Texas "Hill Country" area.
A couple years ago some white squirrels started showing up around here, DFW area. They have since died out, something happened, haven't seen one in quite a while now.
Now, there are some bob-tail ones. At least I think there are more than one. Watching it (or them) they don't appear to be injured, just have a tail about 1/2 the normal length.
