One of my Kubota tractors only has wiring necessary to start, run, and operate. No key switch or etc. only start button to start it and a kill cable to kill it. I want to put an hour meter on it to help with regular service intervals but with no key switch, I have to be careful how I hook it up so it doesn't run all the time. I was planning to run 2 wires from the one-wire alternator, one to the hour meter, and the other to the battery for charging (with the diode in it). This will run the meter only when the tractor is running. Is this diode some of you have used heavy enough to put in the wire from my one-wire alternator to the battery to prevent back feeding the hour meter? If so, where did you get it? Part number?
