There are 2 things to treating poison ivy. The "poison" is Urushiol oil, it is a sticky oil that can get on you or anything that touches the ivy. It can linger on clothes or tools for a year or more.
First you need to remove any urushiol oil on your skin. It takes a decent powered soap to do this, since a shower is probably best you might use a good liquid dish soap like blue dawn. If you've been working in it, and are allergic, you will already get it, but the soap will help remove the rest of the oil to prevent further spreading.
Second thing is treating the rash, mainly because it can itch fiercely. Any over the counter rash/itch medicine should work. these help with the itching and also drying the rash out. Nothing is going to make it go away though as fast as you would like. Some products work better for some people and not others and there are dozens of home remedies etc.
Oh, one more thing, don't forget to wash your clothes and anything else that has been in contact with poison ivy, tools, saws, steering wheel etc. Cleaners that work good on oil and grease , just make sure it's safe to apply on what you clean.
