You guys go ahead and chew about the new stuff, you probably don’t own any, and probably never will. So it won’t be a problem for you anyway. The two newest tractors I have have the particulate return equipment and use DEF , and haven’t given me any problems so far. I don’t intend to keep them much over 6 years, as tractors with 2,500 hours seems to be a sweet spot to trade. I like a tractor that doesn’t require me to be constantly working on it when I should be working in the field get crops in or harvested. If it cost me 10 bucks a hour to own a new tractor, $25,000 , for 2,500 of repair free , parts free use. I think that’s not such a bad deal. The next owner can buy the tractor a bit less money than I paid, but doesn’t get a new tractor with Guarantee and warranty, he’s on his own. And you guys are correct, once these new tractors get to be 15-20 years old, they will be a nightmare. Also the manufacturers will have forgotten they ever sold them, so no new parts. Tractors like most everything else are built for the first owner, not the guy that buys them many years later. In my opinion, I think the manufacturers truly hate tractors like the JD 4440, the IH 1066 and Oliver 1855 and even my old Case 930. Because they just don’t die, and we can fix them.

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
