A nasty incident in Chepsto Ontario at the Concrete yard.
Kids were raised knowing that you don't "get into the line of fire" no matter what you do. What ever it is, it's de-energized, drained, chained, blocked, vented etc to make it safe.
Job site transports multi ton pre-fab concrete slabs on small flatbed rail cars. Railcars are hauled via an electric cable, winch system.
My kid had told people from the CEO on down, don't be standing under cranes, between rail cars, stand on the rail tracks , don't reach under loads. In fact my kid had told the CEO and others in a group again earlier that morning.
On Monday a fellow worker seen the CEO on a yard tour as he often did. Not much of a manager if you just sit in the office. A few minutes later the co-worker was wondering why the CEO was laying on the floor in his semi dress up clothes looking at the cable, hook assembly. Co-worker found the CEO with the rail car remote control nearby and bleeding from head wounds. There was bloody outlines of each ear on the slabs of concrete.

After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
